Feedback Score 1 (100%) I was just wondering what your prefered method is of setting intonition. Do you like using the 12th fret harmonic and 12th fret fretted, or do you like the 12th fret fretted and open string. I have used both, but I was once told, you play notes not harmonics (in general).

3rd & 15th is also worth doing too.
Feedback Score 1 (100%) I use open and fretted, but sometimes if I'm doing final fine adjustments I'll jump quickly between harmonmic and fretted.
I also fret at areas aroudn the neck (5th/7th frets, 15/17th frets) to check that the inonation is even across the neck - sometimes if you fudge it a little, you'll be more in tune on average across the neck, rather than bang on at 12 and out elsewhere. That goes more so for cheap guitars.

I use open and 12th fretted for intonation, but I need to get something more accurate than my TU2.

Harmonics at the 12th fret are good for the open string, and in the theoretical realm.
They are useful that way.
Using harmonics at the 12th and the open string helps too.
Also using fretted notes reflects what most of us use to actually play, so they're useful that way.
I like to use both both methods.
And one day I'd like a srobo tuner of some sort.
